Importance of Family in the South
Anyone from the South knows how important of a role family plays in all aspects. In Aiken Brown's novel, In a Brother's Eyes: the Brant McLachlan Story, she expertly portrays this fact. It was so refreshing to read how close this family was and how much they leaned on each other during times of trouble. I loved how this book was entertaining, but kept the main characters out of the "usual" trouble of teens. Being a mom myself, I would want my children to someday read the message that Aiken sends to her readers on dealing with problems.
Aiken is a very talented writer, and it shows for her storylines, plots and messages. Her third books is anticipated with much excitement!
